Born in Los Angeles, California, to Argentinian rock royalty, singer-songwriter Cecilia Molinari has been swimming in music from the day she was conceived. Her family's magnificent melodies and masterful playing—an intrinsic part of her childhood soundtrack—merged with Cecilia's inclinations toward soul and R&B to shape her own musical identity.
After moving to the East Coast, she performed throughout New England as background and lead vocalist in salsa and R&B bands. Once she began writing her own songs, it only made sense to venture out and start her own band. With a handful of originals in her back pocket, she played Boston and New York venues with a troupe of rotating musicians, until she landed on the right ones to accompany her melodies in her first and long-awaited EP, Cyan Tinted Soul.
The Blue Moons lending their magic to these songs are Brazilian drummer Mauricio Zottarelli, Venezuelan bass player Álvaro Benavides, Cuban keyboard player Axel Tosca, and Venezuelan guitar player Juancho Herrera. Each brought their unique touch to help bring Cecilia's songs to life.
Cyan Tinted Soul includes three original songs written by lead singer, Cecilia Molinari, and a cover in Spanish of a 1972 classic, "Voy a dejar esta casa, papá," honoring her mom, Gabriela, the first female rock singer in Argentina.
Cecilia and the Blue Moons is based in New York and the recently released Cyan Tinted Soul is now available on all platforms.
